Every Child Deserves Their Own Bike

The Variety Bikes4Kids Program aims to give the gift of freedom, independence, exercise and joy to children who are sick or have additional needs, or those who have never been fortunate enough to have a bike of their own.

The wobbly start, the wind in your hair, the simple pride of riding on your own for the very first time.

Every child deserves to feel that joy - but for many families doing it tough, the cost of a bike is simply out of reach.
Riverside Primary is incredibly grateful to Variety and their partners for providing this generous gift for our identified students. Our families can experience hardship for so many different reasons. The Riverside Primary community is always looking for ways to support and help these families when they need it. This year Variety has added an incredibly joyous layer of support with this program, particularly at this important time of the year for families.

Frequently Asked Questions

The child must be under the age of 18 years old, living in Tasmania, and 

  • is living with illness, disadvantage or disability
  • either don't have a bike of their own or mainly has owned preloved bikes 
  • has not received a bike from Variety previously. 

The number of bikes available are limited and are allocated based on the requirements listed above, and on a first-come, first-served basis.
