Alex Doolan

Alex brings a deep commitment to community and a strong sense of leadership to his role on the Board of Variety – the Children’s Charity Tasmania. In his capacity as Director, he helps guide the charity’s strategic direction and supports initiatives that empower children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with additional needs.

Before joining Variety, Alex enjoyed a successful professional career in sport as a first-class cricketer, representing Tasmania in domestic cricket and playing for Australia at Test level. Known for his dedication and resilience on the field, he transitioned into financial planning after retirement, applying a thoughtful, client-first approach with Ford + Scott Financial Planning in Hobart.

Alex’s local roots and professional experience enrich his contribution to Variety’s mission to help children and families across Tasmania live with confidence and opportunity.
